About the Project:

We’ve collaborated with an EHR startup in a developing country that offers telemedicine, electronic health records (EHR), e-prescriptions (with delivery), clinic appointment booking, lab orders (allowing patients to order some basic tests), and in-home blood draws.

Given that the application is designed for a broad age range, including elderly individuals and those with disabilities, accessibility should be a primary focus. Our main goal was to ensure that the design is inclusive and can be easily used by all groups, particularly people with visual, auditory, or mobility impairments.

Challenges of Designing EHR Solution

Intuitive UX for All Ages

We designed a simple, easy-to-navigate interface with clear labels, large touch areas, and straightforward flows to make sure even users with low digital literacy could feel confident using the app.
Streamlined Complex Workflows

To make everything from booking appointments to ordering prescriptions feel simple and natural, we broke down multi-step processes into bite-sized actions with guided steps.
Clear Medical Data Visualization

We used charts, graphs, and color-coded indicators to help users understand their health data at a glance, without overwhelming them with medical jargon.
Building Trust with Thoughtful Design

Clean design, calm color palettes, and professional visuals we used reinforced a sense of reliability, safety, and care.
Friendly Yet Professional Look

We struck a balance between formal medical aesthetics and a warm, approachable vibe to help users feel comfortable and cared for.

The system was built with adaptability in mind. We adjusted workflows, screens, and features as new needs came from doctors, patients, or the tech team.

Core Features

Core features we designed include:

Telemedicine: Online consultations, video calls, and chat with healthcare providers.

EHR and Patient Portal: Comprehensive patient data accessible to both providers and patients.

e-Prescription and Appointment Booking: Digital prescriptions with options for home delivery, and a scheduling system for clinic appointments.

Home-based Services: Blood draws and health checks are performed at patients’ homes.

MyChart-like App: A patient-facing app with lab results, EHR access, and doctor messaging.

To design the web and mobile apps, we used Figma and AI plugins within it, as well as tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Mobbin, and Contrast checker.

- View and fill in the patient’s medical record
- Communicate with the patient via chat or messages
- Verify completed appointments and issue referrals
- Upload examination results or diagnoses
Pharmacy
- Receive and process orders from patients
